Today, Saturday, the Sudan Doctors Network accused the Rapid Support Forces of killing more than 25 civilians in the Umm Bader area of North Kordofan State.
The network said, in a press statement, that it "condemns in the strongest terms what was shown in a circulating video clip documenting the liquidation of more than 25 civilians by elements affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces in the Umm Badr area of North Kordofan State."
She added, "The seriousness of this crime increases with the emergence of indications that the killings were carried out on an ethnic basis and under pretexts related to accusing the victims of bias or siding with the armed forces."
These accusations come in light of the continuing escalation between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, and the accompanying deaths and injuries among civilians and the worsening humanitarian conditions in a number of states of the country.
Sudan has been witnessing a war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since April 2023, which has claimed the lives of at least 59,000 people and displaced about 13 million, while more than 30 million people need humanitarian aid.
