The Israeli army announced, at dawn on Monday, that it had killed a “suspect” who attempted to infiltrate a military site “within the security zone” it occupies in southern Syria.
The army said in a statement that Israeli soldiers spotted "a suspect trying to infiltrate a military site within the 'security zone' in southern Syria."
He also added: "After a quick identification operation, the soldiers opened fire on the suspect and killed him," noting that there were no casualties among his members.
It is noteworthy that Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions by its forces into southern Syria, raiding civilian homes and arresting them, leveling lands, and carrying out missile attacks, among others.
While Syria continues to demand Israel's withdrawal from its territory, stressing that all measures taken by Tel Aviv are null and void, and do not have any legal effect in accordance with international law.
It also calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities and oblige Israel to completely withdraw from southern Syria.
