12 Crew Members Injured on Commercial Ship, Including 11 Indians, Off the Coast of Oman

New Delhi - Afaq News - The Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that 12 crew members of a commercial ship flying the Panama flag were injured, including 11 Indians, after the ship was hit by a shell while passing through the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman on Tuesday.

The ministry stated that the ship was carrying 19 crew members, including 17 Indian nationals, noting that Omani authorities assisted in evacuating the injured and transporting them for medical treatment in the city of Khasab.

New Delhi condemned the attack, expressing concern over the continued attacks targeting commercial ships in the region, and called for an end to the targeting of ships, sailors, and civilian facilities, as well as the restoration of navigation and trade through international waterways.
