Iran, Hezbollah and the Arab peoples

Listen to the article. The audio text is automated, generated by an automated system

One of the most dangerous challenges facing Arab countries is the emergence of trends and personalities that advance their political loyalties and the interests of foreign powers at the expense of the interests of their homelands, which raises important questions about Arab national security and the future of the region.

The support for Iran, Hezbollah, and the Houthis within some Arab societies represents a political issue worthy of study and discussion, especially when this support is linked to support for foreign interventions or policies that contribute to destabilizing Arab countries, and the announcement of this support causes the weakening of their national institutions.

The danger of Iran and its militia arms in the Arab world is based on its continuous endeavor to expand regional influence, destabilize, and target the infrastructure and facilities of the national sovereignty of Arab countries.

Also, in light of what Iran and its arms, Hezbollah and the Houthis, are doing in terms of destruction and sabotage in the Arab countries, on the ground, they did not provide the Arabs with inventions, cultural development, raising the standard of living for the people, or factories and scientific schools. Rather, all they provided was ruin and destruction. Look at the current situation in Yemen and the status of the destroyed, occupied Lebanon. These militias are being exploited as political and military pressure cards, which has led to the destruction of the institutions of Arab countries and the fueling of sectarian and humanitarian conflicts.

Iran and its proxies also caused the semi-closing of the Strait of Hormuz, which led to the cessation of Arab oil exports and a rise in global prices. The poor Arab countries were the first to be harmed by this.

The region is also witnessing an escalation in attacks targeting Arab countries (such as the Gulf states, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the Kurdistan region of Iraq) via missiles and drones, as Tehran seeks, through these movements, to push the region towards a state of chaos and turmoil to reduce international and regional pressures on it instead of directing its weapons against America and Israel.

The problem does not lie merely in citizens’ disagreement with their governments or their adoption of certain political positions, as freedom of opinion is a right that must be respected, but rather in the presence of evidence of putting the interests of external powers ahead of national interests, or participating in secret activities that harm the security and stability of the state.

Arab peoples have paid heavy prices as a result of regional conflicts, foreign interventions, and sectarian divisions, and it has become necessary for Arab countries to reconsider their policies to protect their national security, enhance citizenship, and confront any espionage or sabotage activities by law.

Confronting the fifth column is by holding accountable those proven to be involved in illegal acts and supporting the nation’s enemies, which divides the national ranks, because building a strong state is based on the rule of law, justice, equality, and presenting the nation’s best interests over any personal affiliations.

Homelands are protected by strong institutions, political awareness, justice, and the ability to distinguish between legitimate disagreement and actual cooperation with parties seeking to harm the nation’s interests.

Unfortunately, since it assumed power in Iran in 1979, the regime of the Guardian of the Jurist (Guard) has deliberately intended to cause deep crises and widespread destruction, including inside Iran and many Middle Eastern countries, and turning the rich Iranian people during the days of the Shah into a poor people, a quarter of whom are refugees and scattered around the world.

This repressive regime also confiscated political and social freedoms and freedom of expression, imposed strict censorship on the Internet and the media, and killed peaceful demonstrators.
