The “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” led by Saudi Arabia, announced on Sunday that it had carried out a military operation, which it described as “qualitative,” to neutralize the vital sources used by the Houthi group to carry out its repeated attacks in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The official spokesman for the "Coalition", Major General Turki Al-Maliki, confirmed, "The terrorist Houthi militia continues its deliberate and systematic attacks on civilians and civilian objects in Yemen and the Kingdom, and it is proven that vital resources continue to be harnessed to support its war effort and enhance its military capabilities, especially ballistic and drones, which confirms its terrorist and brutal methodology by employing vital resources to serve its hostile activities.", according to what was reported by the Saudi News Agency "SPA."
Major General Turki Al-Maliki explained, “As a result of the continuation of these attacks, and the direct threat they pose to the lives of civilians and the safety of civilian objects, the leadership of the joint forces of the coalition carried out a qualitative military operation this morning, to neutralize the vital sources used by the terrorist Houthi militia to carry out its repeated and brutal attacks, as well as threatening the security of the Kingdom, Yemen, and the maritime shipping lines in the southern Red Sea.” The coalition spokesman confirmed, "The leadership of the joint forces of the coalition continues to take and implement the necessary operational measures to deter the behavior of the terrorist Houthi militia, and stop the use of vital resources to support its war effort. It must also stop all hostile and brutal operations against civilians and civilian objects, unless the terrorist Houthi militia has to bear the consequences of its hostile behavior," according to the "SPA" agency.
This comes amid continuing armed confrontations between the Iran-backed Houthis and the Yemeni army forces of the internationally recognized government in a number of Yemeni governorates.
