The "Coalition" announces 3 more Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia on Saturday night

- The “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen” led by Saudi Arabia announced, on Saturday night, 3 more attacks launched by the Houthis on the Kingdom, which included the landing of a ballistic missile in Al-Kharj Governorate, the landing of a projectile in the vicinity of King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and the interception and destruction of a drone in the Eastern Province. The official spokesman for the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that a drone was intercepted and destroyed in the eastern region.

Al-Maliki said in another post on his official account on the “X” platform, previously Twitter, that “a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia was intercepted and destroyed in Al-Kharj Governorate.” In a third post, the coalition spokesman announced that a projectile had fallen in the vicinity of King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

This came after at least 12 people were killed and hundreds injured earlier, Saturday, after the Yemeni Houthi group militants targeted an airport in the Saudi capital, as part of the Iranian-backed group’s escalation of its campaign against the Kingdom. The "Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen" coalition said on Sunday that the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was a "terrorist act."

The coalition statement said, "The terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia on one of the passenger lounges at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and the resulting deaths and injuries among civilian passengers and airport workers, amounts to a full-fledged war crime according to international humanitarian law." On Thursday, the Houthis announced a new wave of attacks targeting two civilian airports - Riyadh Airport and Najran Airport, near the southern border between Saudi Arabia and Yemen - in addition to the King Khalid Air Base of the Saudi Air Force.

The Iranian-backed group claimed that the attacks were carried out using cruise and ballistic missiles, and that they caused damage and disrupted air traffic.
