Sudanese army drones launched massive raids in West Kordofan state, targeting sites and fortifications of the Rapid Support Forces, according to field military sources for Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath.

The targeting included the areas of Al-Mujallad, Al-Dabab, Al-Khawi, Umm Marahik, Al-Naim, and Ayal Bakhit, according to the same sources. .

The raids caused multiple losses among soldiers and military equipment of the Rapid Support Forces.

Field military sources had confirmed to Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath that army air sorties in the Ayal Bakhit area resulted in the destruction of 17 Rapid Support combat vehicles with all their military equipment.

In Al-Khoei, the Sudanese army recently announced the downing of a Chinese-made FH-95 enemy strategic drone over the city, according to a statement from the office of the official spokesman for the armed forces.

In the neighboring state of North Kordofan, the General Command of the Armed Forces announced control of the Al-Mazroub area after battles that it said had caused the Rapid Support heavy losses in lives and vehicles, according to a statement published by the Sudan News Agency.

The army imposed its control over most of North Kordofan State, with its capital, El Obeid, and secured the national export route, while the Rapid Support Forces retreated towards the far west and southwest of the state.

The army is advancing towards the cities of Al-Nuhud and Al-Khawi in West Kordofan, while the Rapid Support Forces are mobilizing in the state.

Meanwhile, field sources indicated the continuation of rapid support in transporting weapons from outside the borders of Sudan to the Kordofan region, and pointed to the monitoring of the arrival of a drone system through Heglig Airport in the state of West Kordofan, coming from Unity Airport in the Bentiu region in the state of South Sudan.

The Rapid Support Forces have controlled the Heglig oil field since last December, according to field sources, and both sides are increasingly relying on drones to carry out long-range attacks without exposing their fighters to danger.

The Displacement Tracking Matrix of the International Organization for Migration recorded the displacement of about 132,693 people from the Kordofan region between late October 2025 and February 2026, according to the organization’s data.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned that the increasing frequency of drone strikes across Sudan is extremely disturbing, and called on the parties to the conflict to respect international humanitarian law and protect civilians, according to a statement by the office.
