Tehran - Ofoq News - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ismail Baghaei, said on Monday that the exchange of messages between Iran and the United States through mediators is still continuing, and that Tehran is studying the latest proposal presented by Washington.
Baqaei explained: “We seek our rights and demand a return to the Islamabad understanding.”
He added that the United States is still following the nuclear file in the negotiations.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman also rejected US statements regarding the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that “the Americans’ claims do not match at all what we are witnessing on the ground.”
He pointed out that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz was a result of the performance of the United States and Israel in the attack on Iran, adding: “We will continue what we are doing regarding the Strait of Hormuz, and the Americans can continue with their claims.”
Baghaei also wondered: “If the Strait of Hormuz problem had been solved, why did the United States turn to Russia to secure fuel?”
