Saudi Public Security announced that a financial fraud network had been overthrown and its members, 9 residents of Yemeni and Sudanese nationalities, linked to a criminal gang formation from outside the Kingdom in the Riyadh region, had been arrested. The Saudi Public Security said in a post on its official account on the “X” platform, formerly Twitter, on Friday evening: “The Criminal Investigation and Research Department of the Riyadh Region Police overthrew a financial fraud network and arrested its members, who are 9 residents of Yemeni and Sudanese nationalities, linked to a criminal gang formation from outside the Kingdom, which uses their victims’ data to buy gold bullion and mobile phone devices through electronic stores, sell them or ship them, and transfer the money obtained abroad through illegal means.”
Saudi Public Security added that “30 mobile phones, an iPad, 35 bank ATM cards, and an amount of (25,965) riyals and gold bullion were seized from the criminal network.” Saudi Security confirmed in its publication that “their illegal financial transfers exceeded (200,000) riyals (about 53,269 thousand US dollars).”
The Saudi Public Security concluded its statement by saying that they were arrested, legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.
