Saudi Arabia.. The Ministry of Interior announces the implementation of “the punishment of banditry” against a Yemeni national and reveals his name and crimes

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced, on Saturday, the implementation of the death sentence, “the punishment for banditry,” against one of the perpetrators who holds Yemeni nationality in the Mecca region, according to a statement from the ministry published by the Saudi “SPA” news agency. The Saudi Ministry of Interior said in its statement: “Turkish Abdullah Hassan Al-Zahran, a Yemeni national, formed a criminal gang and robbed two cars belonging to two companies supplying money to the money exchangers twice, and used a firearm to shoot and wound two employees of the two companies, and robbed him of an amount of 3 million riyals (about 780 thousand dollars), in the two robberies,” according to what SPA reported.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior added: “Thanks to God, the security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator, and the investigation with him resulted in him being accused of committing the crimes, and by referring him to the competent court, a ruling was issued against him proving his guilt for what was attributed to him, and that what the defendant did was considered fighting and intimidating the safe and taking their money, and implementing the punishment of hostility against him, and that his punishment would be death. The ruling became final after it was confirmed by his authority, and a royal order was issued to enforce what he said.” It was legally decided against the aforementioned person to impose the punishment of banditry against him by killing him,” according to SPA. The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that “the death sentence (haddya) was carried out against the perpetrator, Turki Abdullah Hassan Al-Zahran, a Yemeni national, on Saturday, 7/21/1447 AH, corresponding to 1/10/2026 AD, in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region,” according to the statement.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior concluded by saying that, “Announcing this, it confirms the keenness of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to establish security, achieve justice, and implement the provisions of Islamic Sharia, with regard to everyone who assaults the safe, steals their money, and violates their right to life and security, and at the same time warns everyone who tempts himself to do such a thing that legal punishment will be his fate.”
