The Saudi Ministry of Tourism blocked 7 electronic platforms that provide travel and tourism services, including domestic Umrah packages and tourist trips, after monitoring their violation of regulatory requirements, in coordination with the competent authorities.
The Ministry explained, in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, that the decision comes as part of efforts to combat irregular practices in the tourism sector, and protect tourists and pilgrims from fraud and services that do not meet quality requirements.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Tourism, Nasr Al Ansari, confirmed the continued monitoring of violations in various tourism activities, including electronic travel platforms, and taking legal measures against violators.
He stressed that the safety of tourists and pilgrims, protecting their rights, and ensuring the quality of services provided to them are the Ministry’s priorities.
The Ministry of Tourism called on tourists and Umrah pilgrims to deal exclusively with platforms and licensed travel and tourism offices, to guarantee their rights and obtain services that meet regulatory requirements.
