Military sources reported to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels that the Sudanese army began carrying out qualitative operations through reconnaissance and hostile action teams on the outskirts of the Umm Kreidim area, which constitutes a vital connection point between North and West Kordofan.
The sources explained that the army forces began a field movement to tighten control over the region through specific operations, in preparation for the advance towards West Kordofan, specifically the areas of Al-Khoei and the northern localities of Al-Nahud locality.
The spokesman for the Special Action Forces in West Kordofan, Muhammad Didan, revealed to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels that their forces carried out a qualitative operation last night west of Al-Mazroub, which resulted in the destruction of 6 vehicles belonging to the Rapid Support Forces and the capture of more than 10 of its members.
Umm Kreidim is the last border point of North Kordofan with West Kordofan State, as the army’s control over it allows it to be present on the borders of the state, which represents the advanced line of defense for the Darfur region for rapid support.
In another context, the spokesman for the joint forces, Mutawakel Wakil, confirmed to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels that the Rapid Support Forces had killed 23 citizens in the Umm Badir area of North Kordofan State, in what he described as a dangerous violation against civilians.
He stressed that "the Rapid Support Forces are seeking to impose panic and terrorism on citizens, which the state will not allow, as the efforts of its forces are continuing to extend its sovereignty and rid the population of the intimidation operations carried out by the Rapid Support against them."
