The Yemeni Armed Forces announced the start of implementing "the liberation battle, completing the restoration of state institutions, and ending the coup." The official spokesman for the armed forces, Colonel Majid Abdullah Al-Nuzaili, said in a statement on Sunday that the battle aims to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and empower the Yemenis with their right to a homeland in which “there is no sovereignty except for the people and no authority except for the constitution and the rule of law.”
The Armed Forces statement came hours after the head of the Yemeni Presidential Command Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, announced the start of military operations to restore the remainder of the Republic’s lands and extend the authority of the state and its institutions over the entire national territory, confirming the transition from the stage of preparation and readiness to the stage of military action. Al-Alimi said that the decision was taken based on the decisions of the National Defense Council and after completing the necessary procedures and measures, noting that the state had exhausted opportunities for calm, and that the continued presence of weapons outside the authority of the state represents, according to him, a threat to the security of citizens and the sovereignty of the country, the region, and international shipping lanes.

Al-Alimi also stressed that the operations do not target the residents of the governorates under the control of the Houthis, and do not represent a war against a region, sect, or tribe, but rather described them as “the state’s battle” to restore its institutions and prevent the confiscation of the will of the Yemenis by force of arms. He called on civilians to stay away from Houthi military sites, gatherings, and supply routes.
In addition, the Chairman of the Command Council directed the armed and security forces and all military formations to carry out the assigned tasks in accordance with the approved plans, declaring that the state’s military, security and civil institutions will be on full alert until the mission is accomplished, according to the presidential statement.
Earlier today, the warplanes of the Yemeni Armed Forces announced a series of intense air strikes, exceeding 20 raids, targeting mobilization sites and camps, as well as command and control centers and military reinforcements of the Houthi militia in Al-Jawf and Marib governorates.
The raids also extended to include the Al-Aqshaa and Al-Nadr desert areas, in addition to destroying a missile launching pad in the Al-Mahzamat area, located west of the governorate.
As for Ma'rib Governorate, the air strikes focused on paralyzing the leadership and logistical capabilities of the militias on the southern front. In four raids, warplanes targeted a Houthi command and control center in Al-Juba District, in addition to targeting military reinforcements and gatherings along the southern front of the governorate, which led to widespread losses of equipment and lives as a result of the intense strikes.
