The National Cybersecurity Authority launched the sixth edition of the “National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign,” with the aim of raising the level of information awareness and establishing a cyberculture among various segments of society, in a way that enhances safe behaviors and supports the maintenance of national security.

The campaign coincides with the International Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which falls in October every year, as part of the Authority’s initiatives aimed at enhancing cyber awareness at the national level and enabling community members to safely deal with renewed risks.

The campaign includes a group of specific events and programs, including holding awareness exhibitions in public places, organizing a mobile exhibition to raise awareness of cybersecurity in a number of national entities, in addition to holding specialized sessions targeting leaders and employees of national entities.

The Authority also provides guidelines to introduce safe practices in cyberspace, and issues a campaign awareness kit to more than 2,500 national entities, in addition to launching the “Don’t Open Space” campaign in cooperation with national agencies from various sectors, to build a cyber culture among the agencies’ employees and members of society.

In parallel, the campaign's educational materials address a number of topics, most notably electronic phishing, activating cyber risk protection tools, two-factor verification, backups, installing updates, parental control, and passwords, which contribute to promoting safe practices among different age groups.

The campaign also highlights the “Verify” service, which enables community members to safely and proactively deal with circulated links, and immediately verify their reliability before visiting them.

The Authority is the authority responsible for cybersecurity in the Kingdom and the national reference in its affairs. It aims to enhance cybersecurity to protect the vital interests, infrastructure of the state and its national security.

The Authority is also responsible for raising the level of awareness of cybersecurity, developing relevant policies, governance mechanisms, frameworks, standards, controls and guidelines, and following up on compliance with them and updating them, in a way that contributes to achieving a safe and reliable Saudi cyberspace that supports growth and prosperity.
