The Saudi Ministry of Energy confirmed the launch of the World Petroleum Conference activities in Riyadh, starting today, October 11, 2026.
The conference, organized by the Ministry of Energy, will be held under the slogan “Paths towards an energy future for all”, within an international energy week that includes international and Arab ministerial meetings, tracks for youth, women, innovation and entrepreneurship, and an accompanying international exhibition, with the participation of more than 70 ministers, more than 300 company presidents and senior executives, and the leaders of more than 25 international organizations concerned with energy.
The Kingdom is hosting the conference for the first time in its history, after its first edition was launched in London in 1933 AD.
The conference brings together government and executive leaders, policy makers, experts, researchers and innovators to discuss the most prominent issues and transformations that shape the future of energy, according to the Saudi News Agency (SPA).
Today, Sunday, the seventeenth ministerial meeting of the International Energy Forum will be held, which discusses issues of energy security, market stability, and enhancing cooperation between producing and consuming countries.
The Kingdom is also hosting in parallel the seventeenth Ministerial Meeting on Clean Energy (CEM17) and the eleventh Ministerial Meeting of the “Mission of Innovation” initiative (MI-11), with the participation of officials from major economies, global companies and research institutions to discuss accelerating the development and adoption of energy technologies and solutions and transforming innovation into practical applications with broad impact.
In the regional context, Riyadh is hosting the sixteenth session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity, in addition to specialized meetings and workshops aimed at strengthening Arab cooperation in the fields of electricity, investment and modern technologies, which reflects the breadth of the issues raised during International Energy Week.
This gathering comes at a time when the global energy sector is witnessing rapid transformations driven by requirements for security of supply, sustainability goals, and the expansion of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, making the meetings a platform for discussing partnerships and investment opportunities and developing practical solutions to future challenges.
