When the sky of Jizan is covered with thunderclouds, flashes of lightning begin to penetrate the clouds, illuminating the sky for a moment with striking natural scenes, giving the rainy weather an exceptional beauty, and at the same time revealing the diversity of the terrain that characterizes the region.

As the rain showers continue, lightning flashes are repeated in a changing scene that lasts only seconds, but it is enough to catch the attention of residents and visitors, and attract photography enthusiasts who wait for its fleeting moments to document them with their lenses.

The scene is not limited to its visual beauty; Lightning is an atmospheric phenomenon that accompanies thunderstorms, and it occurs as a result of an electrical discharge inside the clouds or between them and the surface of the Earth. The sound of thunder results from the rapid heating of the air surrounding the electrical discharge path.

The diverse nature of Jazan gives this phenomenon a different presence, as the region’s topography is distributed between plains, mountains, and coasts, so rain clouds intersect with lightning flashes over disparate natural scenes, each time painting a different picture from one location to another.

Despite the short moments of lightning, its flashes remain one of the most attractive weather phenomena for photographers’ lenses, because they provide fleeting light scenes that sum up the beauty of the rainy season and highlight the diversity of nature in Jazan.

Thus, the storm in the sky of Jizan turns from a passing weather phenomenon into a visual spectacle awaited by photographers, so that the moments of lightning remain a witness to the beauty of nature when clouds meet rain, mountains and coasts.
