The Egyptian Medicines Authority warned against the “Slim Cut Shot” slimming injections, which were promoted by blogger Ali Ghazlan, stressing that the product is not registered with it and is not licensed, and warning of the potential health risks of obtaining pharmaceutical preparations of unknown origin.
According to what was published by the “Al-Youm Al-Sabea” website, yesterday evening, Tuesday, Dr. Yassin Ragai, Assistant Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, confirmed that the “Slim Cut Shot” injections are not registered with the Authority, stressing the necessity of obtaining medicines from licensed pharmacies, and not purchasing pharmaceutical preparations from within clinics or through social media advertisements without verifying their registration and source.
The Authority monitored a graphic advertising material for the product via the “wellnessoasisclinics” account on the “Instagram” platform, on October 9, which included misleading marketing claims about the product, and the violation was listed under code C625/26.
The authority warned against being led by advertisements that promote slimming products and promise quick results, stressing the importance of verifying the regulatory status of the products and their source before use, and not considering the fame of the people promoting them as evidence of their safety or effectiveness.
The Egyptian Medicines Authority called on citizens to report violating advertisements through its official communication channels.
The Authority clarified that the inclusion of any product or advertisement on the lists of advertising violations reflects its regulatory and supervisory position based on the facts proven at the time of publication, and is not considered a judicial ruling.
