Trump on the possibility of meeting Kim Jong Un: “It would be exciting.”

If it happens, this meeting will be the first between them since Trump took office in his first term. Sources previously reported to the Ofoq News Network that White House officials view his upcoming trip to Asia - to attend leaders' summits - as a potential opportunity to reactivate direct diplomacy.

Trump is expected to travel to the Philippines to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Manila, before heading to China to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Shenzhen. It is noteworthy that Trump also raised the idea of holding a meeting with the North Korean leader on the sidelines of his visit to Beijing earlier this year, but that meeting never materialized.
