Tehran - Ofoq News - According to a report published by an Israeli website, Iran is facing a worsening economic, political and security crisis, coinciding with mounting fears within the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that the country may be exposed to a new American attack.
According to the report, the repercussions of the economic crisis began to affect cadres in the Revolutionary Guard, as middle and high-ranking officers, according to the information provided by the site, were forced to search for additional work to secure their living needs.
The report indicates that there is a struggle for influence within the Iranian power hierarchy, with the decline in the influence of a number of officials, including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, in exchange for the growing role of leaders in the Revolutionary Guard.
The report also claims that, according to the site’s sources, Ahmed Wahidi and Hussein Taeb represent two influential figures within the government system, at a time when political officials are facing increasing pressure from the leadership of the Revolutionary Guard.
According to the report, there are estimates within circles in the Revolutionary Guard that US President Donald Trump may intend to carry out a new strike against Iran after the midterm elections for the US Congress.
According to the Israeli narrative, these circles are talking about a discussion about the possibility of initiating military action before any possible American attack, by targeting important sites, with the aim of causing disruption in energy markets, raising oil prices, and increasing political pressure on Washington.
The report says that the supposed goal of this proposal is not necessarily to immediately enter into a comprehensive war, but rather to use the military escalation as a pressure card on the American administration and push it, according to the estimates of the proponents of this proposal, to return to the path of negotiation.
The report also focuses on the economic crisis as one of the most prominent sources of concern within Iran, noting that its repercussions are now being reflected in state institutions and segments associated with them, including some cadres of the Revolutionary Guard.
The report concludes that preserving the survival of the regime has become, according to the assessment of the sources on which it relies, a priority for the Iranian leadership in light of economic pressures, tensions within the institutions of government, and fears of a new military confrontation with the United States.
