The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced, on Thursday, that it had arrested an Egyptian resident working as a security guard in a government hospital, and a female citizen working in the same hospital as “red handed,” in the case of selling and using counterfeit government stamps and seizing the amounts of fees owed to the state. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said in a post on its account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), on Thursday, that the search and investigation work carried out by the Criminal Security Affairs Sector, represented by the Arab and International Criminal Police Department (Interpol), resulted in the arrest of the first accused and the discovery in his possession of a number of forged government stamps.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior added in its publication: “During his investigation, the second accused was arrested, and similar stamps were found in her possession. It was also documented that she completed a transaction using a forged government stamp in exchange for a sum of money. The accused admitted to exploiting the nature of her work to achieve a financial benefit, by passing transactions using forged government stamps, keeping the original stamps and reusing them in other transactions, in addition to removing previously used stamps from saved transactions and reusing them.”
The Ministry concluded by saying: "The accused and the seized items were referred to the competent authority, to take the necessary legal measures against them."
