Qatari Prime Minister: Netanyahu is a war criminal and crossed the red line

Doha - Ofoq News - Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani confirmed that Israel’s attack on Doha during its mediation between Hamas and Israel last year is a historical precedent and a crossing of red lines.

In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, published on Tuesday, the Qatari Prime Minister renewed Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli attack that targeted Doha last year, and said: “We were attacked by Israel while we were pushing for the proposal of US President Donald Trump, and it was unacceptable and condemnable.”

He added: "Attacking mediators is a dangerous precedent that has not happened in all wars throughout history. And (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu, with his attack on Qatar, crossed the red line, as he had crossed other lines before."

Al Thani considered that, by attacking Qatar, Netanyahu seeks to manipulate public opinion and mislead it with false facts, noting that the Israeli Prime Minister places the blame on others instead of looking at his own behavior and the behavior of his government, and he also tries to project what he himself is doing onto others.

In response to a question about the nature of what Israel is doing in the Gaza Strip, Al Thani said that what is being committed in Gaza is war crimes, and that Netanyahu is responsible for this and is a “war criminal.”

On September 9, 2025, the Israeli army launched an air attack targeting the residential headquarters of members of the Hamas political bureau in Doha, in a move that Qatar described as a “treacherous attack that constitutes state terrorism.”

The attack resulted in the death of 6 people and the injury of 18 others, and was met with widespread Arab and international condemnation.

The targeting came while Qatar, along with Egypt and under American supervision, was leading mediation efforts in indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners.
