Aziz Al-Shafei supports Sherine and clarifies his position on the release of her two new songs

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - The Egyptian poet and composer, Aziz Al-Shafi’i, clarified his position on Sherine Abdel Wahab’s release of two new songs, composed by him, and one of them also composed by his words. He expressed, in a video he posted on his official Instagram account, on Wednesday, his great happiness with the release of the two songs, even though he would have preferred to release them in a “better way on all platforms,” according to what he said. Al-Shafi’i indicated that he was speaking with Sherine until the last moment before the release of the two songs, and expressed his understanding of her position, especially since she promised her fans this, and said that he supports her “no matter what happens,” and added: “It is important that we hear her everywhere, and on all platforms.”

Al-Shafi’i continued: “We love Sherine, and we have one Sherine in Egypt. We want to hear her, we want her songs to be released, and to be happy with her.” He expressed his hope that this crisis will overcome, as it has overcome previous crises.

This is in reference to Sherine's escalating crisis with the "Rotana" company, which deleted her two new songs from her new channel on YouTube. Al-Shafi'i said that he "heard contradictory words from the company's lawyer and the Egyptian artist's lawyer, both of whom are senior lawyers," as he put it. He wondered: "Why are these legal matters not clearly ended?"

Aziz Al-Shafi’i hoped that major musical and legal figures would intervene to solve this problem, ensuring that all parties obtain their rights, and allowing Sherine to resume her artistic activity. Sherine Abdel Wahab released two new songs on Tuesday through her new account on the “X” platform. The first is titled “I Hope I Forget You,” written by Aziz Al-Shafi’i, and the second is entitled “The One Who Meets My Love,” written by the poet Tamer Hussein and composed by Al-Shafi’i.

Sherine later added links to watch her two new songs, through a new channel called “Sherin Abdel Wahab” that she recently launched on YouTube, but Rotana deleted them hours later.
