“Flydubai” announces the suspension of its flights to and from Israel “temporarily”

- Flydubai announced, on Wednesday, that it will temporarily suspend its flights to and from Israel, in light of the ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred on board one of its flights while in flight. A Flydubai flight bound for Israel was forced to change its course and land in Saudi Arabia, after passengers on board foiled a suspected hijacking attempt.

A company spokesperson said: “The safety and well-being of our passengers, crew and operations remain our top priority, and this temporary suspension will allow the relevant authorities to continue their work and determine all the facts related to the incident.” The spokesman added that Flydubai apologizes to the passengers “whose travel plans were affected, and is working to provide support and alternative arrangements wherever possible.”

It is noteworthy that the company operates daily flights (back and forth) between Dubai and Tel Aviv, a route that is very popular with Israeli citizens, according to what was reported by the “Reuters” news agency.
