- Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storhe said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with US envoy Steve Witkopf in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, on Tuesday, in an effort to put diplomacy “on a more constructive path.” Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, will participate in the meeting remotely.
According to the Norwegian government, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Støre will also attend the meeting. The meeting comes in light of the widening gap between Trump and Zelensky over intelligence sharing, sanctions, Ukrainian attacks on the Russian energy sector, and the path toward peace.
“Ukraine has requested that U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner join the meetings, and I am pleased that they will be able to participate,” Storah said in a statement on Tuesday. He added: "The goal is to put diplomatic efforts on a more constructive path."
