Two Killed in Israeli Airstrike on Gaza

Two Palestinians were killed, one of whom was a volunteer in the civil defense, today, Wednesday, following an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza, according to the civil defense in the region, coinciding with Israel commemorating the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks that sparked the outbreak of war in Gaza.
Civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said, "Two citizens were killed, one of whom is civil defense volunteer Muhammad Tammous," who died after arriving at Al-Shifa Hospital "due to an Israeli airstrike early today near the destroyed Kamal Adwan Hospital" in northern Gaza, and he noted that several injured individuals were transferred following the strike.
A security source in Gaza reported artillery shelling and gunfire from Israeli forces targeting most of the eastern areas of Khan Younis in the southern sector, as well as the camps of Deir al-Balah, Al-Bureij, and Al-Maghazi (in the center) and the neighborhoods of Al-Zeitoun, Al-Tuffah, and Al-Shuja'iyya east of Gaza City. He pointed out that the Israeli army "blew up and destroyed several houses in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood."
Loud explosions were heard on the other side of the border, inside Israel, while relatives of several victims of the October 7 attacks gathered at dawn at the site of the "Nova" music festival to commemorate more than 300 people who were killed at that site during the attacks.
Despite a year passing since the ceasefire agreement reached between Hamas and Israel mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, the Israeli army continues its air, naval, and ground strikes on the sector almost regularly.
Israeli forces control more than sixty percent of the area of the Gaza Strip, which is 365 square kilometers and is home to more than two million Palestinians, most of whom live in unsuitable tents.
Israeli strikes have resulted in the death of more than 1,460 Palestinians since the ceasefire was announced in October 2025, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, which the United Nations considers its data reliable.
More than 74,200 Palestinians have been killed since the war began three years ago, according to Ministry of Health data.
The Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, resulted in the deaths of more than 1,200 people, according to official Israeli data.
