A civilian and a girl were killed and 11 other civilians, including children and women, were injured on Wednesday as a result of bombing and shooting launched by the Houthi militia in a number of areas of Taiz Governorate.
The Human Rights Office in Taiz said that the child Maya Maher Mahmoud Hazza (7 years old) was killed as a result of a bombing that targeted her family’s home in the village of Kahlan in Sabr Al-Mawadim District, and the citizen Amer Abdullah Saeed was killed by sniper bullets while he was in front of his house in the same area.
He added that five civilians were injured in separate attacks, including a three-year-old child who was injured by shrapnel in his right eye as a result of the bombing of his family’s home in the Al-Aqroud area of Al-Misrakh District, in addition to two children who were injured by sniper bullets, and a woman and an elderly person who were injured in a bombing that targeted the Sinah and Bir Basha areas in the city of Taiz.
In another incident, six people from one family were injured, including a girl in critical condition, as a result of a bombing that targeted their house in the village of Kahlan in the Sabr al-Mawadim District, southeast of the governorate, according to local sources.
The sources added that an ambulance came under fire from a sniper while trying to transport the injured, forcing the people to evacuate them via alternative routes to a safe area to receive treatment.
These incidents come in light of the continued Houthi bombing and targeting targeting residential areas in Taiz Governorate, leaving civilian casualties.
