International Conference at the Arab American University Discusses the Future of Artificial Intelligence in Education

Jenin - Afaq News - The Arab American University is preparing to host the third international conference on digital transformation and artificial intelligence, organized by the National Center for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence under the title "From Vision to Implementation: Enhancing the Adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Education in Palestine," under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with the participation of experts, speakers, and representatives from national and international institutions specialized in education, technology, and artificial intelligence.

This year's conference enjoys strategic sponsorship from Bank of Palestine and Jawwal Company, while the Arab Islamic Bank participates as a platinum sponsor, and Cairo Amman Bank as a gold sponsor, along with PalPay and BCI as silver sponsors, as part of supporting public and private sector institutions for digital transformation and innovation, and enhancing the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the education sector.

The conference comes amid the rapid transformations witnessed by the education sector globally with the expansion of artificial intelligence usage, aiming to explore ways to enhance the readiness of Palestinian educational institutions to benefit from these technologies and address challenges related to skills, infrastructure, data governance, and ethical and regulatory frameworks.

Dr. Walid Deeb, Chairman of the Board of the National Center for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence, stated that the conference aims to shift the discussion about artificial intelligence in education from talking about potentials and opportunities to exploring mechanisms for adoption and implementation on the ground, by bringing together policymakers, educational institutions, experts, researchers, the technology sector, and international partners to exchange experiences and discuss the priorities of the Palestinian education sector.

It is noteworthy that the first day of the conference will be dedicated to strategic and leadership dialogue, through keynote speeches and high-level discussion sessions addressing the governance of artificial intelligence in education, regulatory and ethical frameworks, and the transformations it imposes on teaching, learning, assessment, and the role of the teacher, in addition to the relationship between education, skills, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the labor market.

On its second day, the conference will shift to the practical side through technical sessions and training workshops that address the readiness of schools, universities, and teachers to adopt artificial intelligence, develop teaching and assessment methods, govern data and technological infrastructure, and utilize data and analytics to support decision-making and develop scalable and applicable solutions in educational institutions.

Experts, specialists, and representatives from national, international, and regional organizations are scheduled to participate in the conference, enhancing the exchange of global experiences and connecting them to the needs and priorities of the Palestinian education sector.

The conference comes as a continuation of the conferences and initiatives implemented by the National Center for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence at the Arab American University, as part of its role in promoting national dialogue on digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and linking academic and technological expertise to the needs of institutions and sectors.
