What did we say to Mr. Lavrov?

Listen to the article. The audio text is automated, generated by an automated system

There is no doubt that the Russian Federation, which was before Russia the Soviet Union, and before it the Russia of the Tsarist Empire of the Romanovs, is a large country influencing the course of history, the present and the future.

A country that constitutes a self-contained geographic, political, and cultural unit, or is a new continent as some like to describe it, located between Asia and Europe. It is Eurasia, as it is the largest country in the world by area, and it has natural and mineral resources, such as oil and gas, and agricultural resources, such as wheat, which is abundant, abundant, and dangerous.

On top of all of this, it is a superpower nuclear state, with tremendous military capabilities, but since the days of the Tsars and the Soviets up to today, it has stood as a solid bloc in front of the Western bloc, led by Europe before, and then led by America today - despite the recent rapprochement between Trump and Putin - and because of this historical conflict with the West, it seeks to weaken this West, oppose it, weaken it, and distract it from it, and one of the arenas of this concern is our region, which is afflicted by these international conflicts.

Today, Iran and its affiliates in Yemen, Iraq, and Lebanon are attacking us, on alert. In fact, as the Secretary of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, said, they have fired more than 7,000 ballistic missiles at us, targeting Gulf facilities since last February, from blessed Iran and its affiliates, of course!

What is new is that during the opening session of the ninth joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Russian Federation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed the importance of the role of the Gulf states in shaping the stability of the region, indicating that strengthening communications with the Gulf Cooperation Council is among the priorities of Russian diplomacy. Minister Lavrov said that his country supports efforts aimed at preventing the region from sliding into a large-scale war. Nice, what next?

What are Russia's interests with the Gulf states, and can Moscow play a positive role, in the interests of sound peace and stability?

Lavrov said that bilateral trade between Russia and the Gulf states increased by 44 percent last year, pointing out that the effectiveness of economic cooperation is linked to achieving stability in the region. We know about the long-standing, ongoing relations between Russia and Iran, I mean Khomeini’s Iran. Yesterday, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov will visit Tehran, today (Monday), to hold consultations with Iranian officials, with the aim of following up on the implementation of bilateral agreements. Will the godfather of Russian foreign diplomacy tell Tehran’s leaders that the Gulf is not their enemy that is bombing Iran and imposing a naval, economic, and financial blockade on it, so that they try to sabotage its security?!

Will he put pressure - and not just say - on Tehran’s leaders to stop harming them, and force their followers to do so in Yemen and Iraq?!

More importantly, did the Gulf Arabs present a common vision and a unified discourse to talk to Russia regarding this serious issue? Meeting is strength, and “spears refuse to be broken when they come together.”
