Today, Tuesday, the Saudi Council of Ministers, headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, affirmed that protecting global energy security and the sustainability of supply chains and navigation traffic is a shared responsibility that requires international cooperation.

The Council of Ministers welcomed the presidential statement issued by members of the UN Security Council, which condemned the Houthi terrorist militia’s attacks on civilian objects, airports, and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, and the continuing threats to navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.
The statement stressed the importance of fully implementing Security Council Resolution 2216 and subsequent resolutions, calling for practical cooperation to prevent the terrorist group from obtaining weapons and other forms of support.
The Council also appreciated the decision of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to establish the “Council of Cybersecurity Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Countries” and to choose Riyadh as the headquarters of its General Secretariat and Executive Office, based on a proposal submitted by the Kingdom.
This comes as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance the stability of cyberspace, and to host regional and international headquarters and entities related to cybersecurity, based on its track record of successes in supporting strategic initiatives in this field.
The Council discussed the outcomes of the Kingdom’s hosting of a number of international conferences, praising the recommendations issued by the Riyadh Economic Forum, which will contribute to serving the national economic system, strengthening economic policies and directions, and consolidating the integrated partnership between the public and private sectors, in line with the desired goals and comprehensive development transformations.
