The Governor of the Saudi Central Bank - SAMA, Ayman Al-Sayyari, confirmed the steadfastness of the Saudi economy despite the continuation of the war in the Middle East, supported by prudent economic policies and huge financial reserves, in addition to the strength of the banking sector and high levels of capital and liquidity.

Al-Sayyari explained, in the Kingdom’s statement during the International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings in Thailand, that the continuation of the conflict in the Middle East negatively affects the prospects of the global economy, with its repercussions extending to trade, transportation, inflation, and financing capacity, amid escalating uncertainty.

He stressed the importance of maintaining price stability and enhancing financial sustainability, stressing the pivotal role of the International Monetary Fund in confronting global economic imbalances.

He pointed out that “Saudi Vision 2030” contributed to strengthening the economic foundations of the Kingdom by expanding the non-oil economy and increasing the participation of the private sector, while continuing to diversify the economy and deepening the financial markets to support sustainable and comprehensive growth.

The Kingdom’s delegation concluded its participation in the annual meetings of the Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund for the year 2026 AD in the Thai capital, Bangkok, after participating in its work during the period from 1 to 6 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to 12 to 17 October 2026 AD.
