Hebron - Afaq News - The beginning for some Palestinian companies participating in the 2026 Construction Industries Exhibition was not just a commercial decision, but a necessity imposed by the reality of work, which over time transformed into productive projects that provide local alternatives to imported products and open job opportunities for Palestinian labor, in an experience that reflects the ability of local industry to develop and compete.
Tariq Sultan recounts, during his participation in the Construction Industries Exhibition at the Hebron Expo in the city of Hebron, how the idea started from the contractors' need for work supplies, before it turned into a factory that produces these supplies locally.
Sultan stated that the initial need was for a factory that provides all the contractors' requirements, adding: "We started working to meet our needs, then we moved towards the local markets," pointing out that the company began manufacturing scaffolding and other supplies, with Palestinian hands, and with quality that rivals imported products, and at a cost that is about 35% less than the cost of importing, according to what he said.
This experience presents a model of how the daily needs of the construction sector can transform into investment and production opportunities, allowing for the provision of local products at competitive prices and reducing reliance on imports.
Local industry.. Job opportunities and economic stability
In this context, the Director General of the Preventive Security Service in Hebron, Major General Hilal Abdul Haq, emphasized the importance of marketing Palestinian products and enhancing their presence in the market, considering that the success of exhibitions is not limited to showcasing products, but extends to their ability to improve the living conditions of citizens by providing job opportunities.
Abdul Haq pointed out during his tour of the exhibition that some companies have up to 400 or 500 employees, which means that hundreds of Palestinian families depend on the continuity of these companies and their economic activity for their livelihood.
He expressed hope that specialized exhibitions would contribute to providing a more stable market for companies, positively reflecting on economic and social conditions, and enhancing community stability, encouraging the continued organization of these events.
Companies showcase their solutions and expand their market presence.
The exhibition witnessed the participation of companies operating in various fields, including construction industries and security and surveillance systems, in addition to development and investment companies.
Engineer Muath Al-Jaabari, Director of Ram Investment Company, stated that the company is participating for the second time in the Hebron Expo, pointing out the importance of alarm systems in protecting homes and facilities, as they serve as a means of early warning in case of unauthorized entry, alongside the role of surveillance cameras.
He added that the atmosphere of the exhibition was distinctive, with a diverse range of visitors including engineers, contractors, project owners, and citizens, which allows companies to showcase their products and engage with different segments of the audience.
For her part, Asil Rashid Bayoud, Administrative Director at Ammar Rashid Bayoud Company, spoke about the challenges facing youth in the labor market, emphasizing that gaining practical experience, continuous learning, and benefiting from the experiences of others are essential factors for improving performance and achieving goals.

For his part, engineer Ahmed Al-Qawasmi, head of the Palestinian Businessmen Forum, described the exhibition as an important event for the Palestinian industry and economy, emphasizing the importance of the participation of businessmen and all entities related to the construction industries sector.
Al-Qawasmi expressed his hope that the coming year will witness a new start for the construction sector, beginning in Gaza and extending to various parts of Palestine, allowing local industries to expand their markets and benefit from upcoming projects.
The construction industries exhibition, in its fifth edition, features companies from various sectors at a time when the Palestinian economy faces challenges related to declining demand for real estate and construction, as well as reduced job opportunities and liquidity in the market.
Among the companies are those that started from the contractors' need for supplies that are not available locally, and others that seek to market their products and expand their customer base. The exhibition stands out as a platform to showcase Palestinian production capabilities and open the door to new partnerships, while the main challenge remains in transforming this presence into sustainable demand that ensures the continuity of factories, expands production, and provides job opportunities.
On his part, Rami Al-Natsheh, General Director of Hebron Expo, clarified that the construction industries exhibition, which is the largest organized by Hebron Expo in collaboration with the Engineers Syndicate, confirms through the experiences of the participating companies, a part of the ability of the Palestinian industry to meet market needs, provide job opportunities, and develop local products capable of competing with imported products.
