Permanent headquarters with 15 floors: Approval of the plan to build the UAE embassy in Herzliya

Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - The Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee approved on Tuesday the plan to build the permanent building for the UAE Embassy in Israel, which will be built in the Herzliya area.

This plan, which is defined as being of political and national importance, is being promoted within the framework of the continuation of the Abraham Accords and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and the UAE in 2020. The embassy currently operates from temporary offices in Tel Aviv and Herzliya, and the new building will serve as its permanent headquarters.

According to the approved plan, a building reaching a height of 15 floors with a building area of ​​15,000 square meters will be constructed on an area of ​​​​approximately 2.5 dunams. Up to 20% of the building rights will be allocated to the residences of the ambassador and members of the diplomatic corps on the upper floors of the building.

In addition, the plan includes a separate entrance to the underground parking lot, expanding the right-of-way on Sapir Street, creating a public space with shade trees and improving pedestrian infrastructure.

The land on which the embassy will be built is owned by the municipality of Herzliya. As part of this step, and in coordination with the Israel Lands Authority, work is underway to transfer ownership of the land to the state with the aim of leasing it to the United Arab Emirates, in exchange for allocating an alternative plot of land to the municipality in the marina area.
