British police charged British comedian Russell Brand with rape and other sexual crimes against four women. According to the Metropolitan Police, one woman was allegedly raped in 1999 in Bournemouth, southern England; Another woman was indecently assaulted in the London borough of Westminster in 2001; Another woman was subjected to oral rape and sexual assault in 2004, also in the London borough of Westminster; Another woman was sexually assaulted between 2004 and 2005 in the Westminster area of ​​London. The Metropolitan Police added in its statement that Brand will appear before the Westminster District Court in London early next month. It did not specify Brand's current whereabouts, but described him as living in southern England.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told Ofoq News that a written charge and search warrant had been issued. The comedian, who recently reintroduced himself as a social commentator, had previously denied the allegations.

Police began investigating Brand in September 2023 after receiving allegations following a joint investigation led by three British media outlets - The Sunday Times, The Times, and the "Dispatches" program on Britain's Channel 4.
