- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised what he described as “Israeli heroism” on Thursday, during his meeting with passengers who were on board the “Fly Dubai” plane that changed its course, and who helped save the plane from a disaster. “I tell the citizens of Israel to learn from you, to keep their eyes open and remain vigilant,” Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu spoke with a number of passengers, including Yaniv Hayon, who said he grabbed the alleged attacker by the neck and pulled him out of the cockpit, and Shota Musayev, who helped the injured Indian pilot. Netanyahu said: “The whole world is witnessing the Israeli heroism.”
The motive of the suspect, the plane's co-pilot, remains unclear. The Israeli Prime Minister's Office said that Netanyahu told the passengers that "thanks to their exceptional courage, good behavior and faith, they prevented a major disaster and saved many lives."
