During her interview with the “Mirror” program, yesterday evening, Tuesday, Heidi Karam recalled an incident dating back to her childhood, when she was four years old, after one of her elderly neighbors died of a sudden heart attack.

The Egyptian artist said that she placed her head on the man's chest in an attempt to make sure that his heart was still beating, before she discovered his death, noting that seeing his body left a psychological impact on her, and caused her to be afraid to sleep for fear of being exposed to sudden death.

Karam also explained that these fears continued for a while, before her father intervened to help her overcome them, by discussing and reassuring her until she gradually got rid of those thoughts.

On the other hand, Hedi Karam touched on her marriage and divorce, explaining that she got married at the age of 18, and her husband was 11 years older than her, stressing that the age difference was not the real reason behind the end of the marriage.

While the Egyptian artist attributed the failure of the relationship to her young age and lack of experience in life, saying: “My lack of experience and young age was the real reason behind the divorce,” confirming the continuation of her good relationship with her ex-husband, despite the passage of about 19 years since the separation.

She pointed out that her ex-husband is still an important person in her life and the life of her family, and she also wishes him happiness and success, and does not mind attending his wedding if he decides to marry again.

Heidi Karam revealed a difficult financial crisis that she faced after the divorce, which coincided with a period during which she did not obtain new artistic roles, which affected her financial situation and led her to face difficulties in providing her basic needs.

She explained that the crisis reached the point where she was unable to buy food or afford fuel, which ultimately forced her to sell her car to get money and meet her needs during that period.

Karam went on to explain that her circumstances improved later after she got the opportunity to participate in a series in a major role in exchange for a large salary, considering that what happened strengthened her belief and made her more convinced that what a person plans for himself may not necessarily be better than what he gets from life.
