Washington - Ofoq News - US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is “very tight,” and that “all necessary options are available to US President Donald Trump if Iran continues to manipulate the Strait,” as he put it.
Hegseth added in statements to reporters: “Iran wants to manipulate matters such as the Strait of Hormuz. They do not control it, but we have control over it.”
He continued: "They did not actually succeed in passing anything. Our blockade is very tight, and we manage traffic through the strait at levels close to those that prevailed before the war, and this is evident from the volume of the flow."
He went on to say: "Therefore, we feel that we are in a very strong position. Iran must make the right choice, and if it does not do so, all the necessary options will be available to the American President, but he will not allow these matters to prolong unnecessarily; he understands the nature of the mission, and we are able to accomplish it whenever we are asked to do so."
The US Secretary of Defense also indicated that Trump is "absolutely determined" to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
“The message is very simple: Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and President Trump is absolutely intent and determined to ensure that they do not, and they never will,” Hegseth said.
