Jerusalem - Ofoq News - On Thursday, about 1,195 settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the sixth day of the so-called Jewish “Throne Day,” with heavy protection from the occupation police and its special forces, while a number of them raised the occupation flag in front of the Dome of the Rock Mosque during the morning raids.
The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said that the raids took place in successive groups through the Mughrabi Gate, which has been controlled by Israel since 1967, while the Jerusalem Governorate reported that one of the settlers raised the occupation flag in front of the Dome of the Rock.
Thus, the number of settlers who stormed Al-Aqsa during the days of “Throne Day” rose to about 8,500 settlers, amid a noticeable increase in the number of stormers compared to last year, and an escalation of calls made by the alleged “Temple” groups to intensify the raids and perform religious rituals inside the courtyards of the mosque.
2,468 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa, on Wednesday, the fifth day of Eid, while the previous days witnessed the storming of 1,500 settlers on the second day, 1,731 on the third day, and 1,462 on the fourth day, which included the performance of Talmudic rituals and prayers, including collective prostration and the introduction of so-called “plant offerings,” in addition to dancing, singing, and clapping in the courtyards of the mosque.
These incursions come in light of the occupation forces tightening their procedures in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, imposing restrictions on the entry of worshipers and withholding their identities at the gates, in conjunction with securing settlers’ incursions and their rituals.
The Jerusalem Governorate indicated that the number of settlers who stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque since the beginning of this year reached 52,277 settlers, warning of the continuation of daily raids and the escalation of public religious rituals and violations inside the mosque.
During the Jewish holidays, Jerusalemite calls continue for the people of Jerusalem and the interior to go to Al-Aqsa Mosque and Rabat in its courtyards and chapels, in light of the continued incursions of settlers under the protection of the occupation forces.
