“In brotherly Yemen, the Kingdom affirms its comprehensive support, through the coalition to support legitimacy, for the Yemeni government, to extend its authority over the entire country, restore stability, and confront the attacks of the terrorist Houthi militias.”
This is what Prince Mohammed bin Salman said, in the speech he delivered on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, before the Shura Council, a week ago.
As the leadership of this blessed country has accustomed us to; Words and deeds are her calling, and stability is her goal. This did not come out of nowhere; In the history of the founder of this country (may God have mercy on him), there is a similar situation, when Imam Yahya Hamid al-Din (may God have mercy on him), more than ninety years ago, attacked Najran, Abha, and Jizan. Then the founder issued his famous words: “I accept being described as a coward in order to avoid bloodshed and destruction, but if the extent of threatening my country’s sovereignty is reached, I will not accept humiliation,” or as he said. This resulted in the “Taif Agreement” for the borders between the two countries, in the year 1354 AH (1934 AD), and the withdrawal of Yemeni forces from Saudi territory.
Our leadership has been very patient with the repeated provocations of the Houthi group for several years, in order to avoid fighting, but when the torrent reached its peak, the signs of liberating Yemen from the tyranny of this rogue faction were only revealed, and soon their forces were defeated on the fronts, and President Al-Alimi announced that the liberation of Sana’a was the demand.
The Kingdom was never greedy for land in Yemen, nor did it seek to fight there. Indeed, throughout the past years, it has not stopped calling for a peaceful solution that restores stability and security to Yemen and its people, and it has tried, with the mediators, to reach an end to the tragedy that is afflicting the citizens of Yemen who have been oppressed by a gang that has no regard for them except respect or mercy, but rather undermined peace and stability, persecuted them, and imposed on them massive injustice and violent oppression.
But now, when the legions of victory have set out to restore the long-absent truth, congratulations to the people of Yemen for its happy return, and may God bless our leadership, which has taken the initiative, with its capabilities alone, to deter the oppressor and uphold the peaceful.
The Kingdom is still a support for Yemen and its people. A few days ago, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (may God protect him) directed to begin correcting the conditions of all Yemenis who are in the Kingdom irregularly, in response to the request of President Rashad Al-Alimi. This was evidence that the Kingdom’s care for the interests of Yemen does not stop at the battlefields, but rather extends to the Yemeni citizen in his livelihood and residence. It is a sword against those who transgress, and a shelter for those who seek refuge.
