The Egyptian businessman, Naguib Sawiris, commented on an article written by the journalist Ahmed Moussa, in which he pointed out that the Democrat who won the Michigan state elections, Abdel Rahman Al-Sayyed, “has no connection to Egypt other than his parents.” Sawiris re-published a post on “X”, previously Twitter, that included an article by Moussa on “Mazyed” newspaper, which stated: “Abdul Rahman Al-Sayyed “Abdul” has no connection to Egypt other than his parents. He is not Egyptian, but American.”
The Egyptian businessman responded to this article by saying, "His wit is evidence of his Egyptianness." Abdul Rahman Al-Sayyed made history by becoming the first Muslim elected to the United States Senate.

He called for reducing this funding, along with the aid provided to Israel, considering that American funds contribute to strengthening the grip of what he called a “military dictatorship” over the Egyptian people.
