The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation revealed today, Friday, that air traffic at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has returned to normal, after it was exposed to two attacks.
According to the authority’s statement, King Khalid International Airport was subjected to two attacks, the first attack targeting the airport facilities, while the second attack targeted a Saudi Airlines plane. Emergency teams and competent authorities began dealing with the two attacks immediately after they occurred, according to approved procedures and plans.
The two attacks resulted in the death of 3 Saudi citizens and the injury of a number of citizens and residents of different nationalities. Their injuries ranged from minor to severe. They were immediately transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care. The two attacks resulted in some material damage.
The authority confirmed the continued integration and continuous coordination with the relevant security authorities to assess the damage, and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of travelers and workers, and to maintain the security and safety of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom, indicating the resumption of operational operations at the airport, and the return of air traffic to normal.
