The head of the Yemeni Presidential Command Council, Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, announced on Tuesday that Operation “Yemen Dawn” with the support of Saudi Arabia is “moving steadily towards its ultimate goal.”
Al-Alimi said in a speech on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the October 14 Revolution that the essence of Operation “Yemen Dawn” is to restore state institutions.
He also stressed that there is no going back from the decision to restore state institutions, stressing that the goal is “to build a state in which there is no will above the will of the people.”
He also added: "We have exhausted all opportunities for calm with the Houthis," adding that the militia is endangering the security of the region. He stressed that the Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia cross all red lines.
Al-Alimi praised the performance of government forces since the launch of Operation “Yemen Dawn,” stressing that they are “performing well” on various fronts. He also appreciated the Saudi role in supporting stability in Yemen.
He also called on the international community to respond urgently to the humanitarian suffering in Taiz Governorate, while appealing to civilians in areas under Houthi control to stay away from military sites and areas for their safety.
Al-Alimi went on to stress that "the Houthi threat does not target a specific governorate, but rather represents an existential threat to all of Yemen."
He also added that "the people of the southern governorates were at the forefront of defending the state project," pointing out that "Aden and the southern governorates were at the forefront of the cities that defeated the Houthi militias."
He also stressed: “We are proud of the positions of the people of the southern governorates,” explaining that “protecting the security of the south is an integral part of national responsibility,” and stressing the commitment to “the justice of the southern cause.”
It is noteworthy that Operation “Yemen Dawn” was launched on October 5, with the aim of restoring state institutions, liberating the capital, Sana’a, and ending the Houthi militia coup.
