Libyan journalist Jumaa Abu Klaib paints a disturbing picture of what was known as “eastern Libya,” until the founding king declared it a unified state. The expanded investigation presents a painful reality for the two main states in the country, namely Tripoli and Benghazi. Benghazi largely enjoys relative stability, whether in terms of security, administration, or the general situation. This is what Tripoli lacks in general as well. Libya cannot return to the state through two doors, because sovereignty in states has one door, as examples and evidence attest to us. Libya had lived through the Idrisid stage in complete calm, even with a little money that was scarce at the time, until the rule of one man and that same philosophical rule as well came: that is, the house belongs to its resident and the street belongs to its walkers.

After forty years of imaginative experiences, Libya saw itself in conflict with the wall, and was lost between the dream of liberating the Arab world, along with Palestine and the African continent, and the intense bloody conflict that left hot wounds between the city and the desert. October 7 shook the Arab framework as never before. It is true that it did what it did in Gaza, but the negative impact went beyond the damage inflicted on the Palestinian cause over the wars and years. Despite the heroics recorded here and there, the catastrophe remained in the great impact that the destruction of Gaza left on the hearts of its children, in the mourning of its men, and the wails of its mothers. No one yet knows the long-term impact of October 7th, and Israel has taken it as the strongest pretext in the history of its wars. Without literally declaring it, the war was used as a pretext for an existential war that would put the final form of the process of genocide.

The Middle East has never known a proliferating war like the one it witnessed this time. It seemed that every war was conditional or linked to another. Let us not forget that for Israel, October 7 was associated with the name of the Holocaust and its human and material size, and thus the wars in Lebanon and Jordan and what followed were associated with it, and for this reason we finally became accustomed to calling the wars a ceasefire treaty.
