British Authority: A tanker was hit by an unknown projectile off Saudi Arabia and its crew was evacuated

Bethlehem - Ofoq News - The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority announced, on Saturday, that a tanker was hit by an unknown projectile 68 nautical miles northeast of the Saudi city of Jubail, and all its crew members were safely evacuated.

This came in a statement issued by the British Authority, in which it said that it received a late report from the company’s security official about the incident, which occurred on Friday at 09:00.

She explained that all crew members were fine and had been evacuated, with no environmental impact reported at the time of preparing the report.

She indicated that the authorities are investigating the incident, calling on ships to cross with caution and to report any suspicious activity.

The statement did not include details about the identity of the tanker or the party responsible for launching the projectile.

This comes in light of continuing tension in Saudi Arabia following attacks launched by the Houthi group on civilian facilities in the Kingdom.
