The Supreme Council for Media Regulation, in Egypt, headed by Engineer Khaled Abdel Aziz, decided to prevent the appearance of broadcaster Sherine Al-Atroush, presenter of “Program from the Heart,” and to stop her program.

The decision came based on the recommendations of the Complaints Committee headed by the journalist Issam Al-Amir, Deputy of the Council, and the violations observed by the General Administration of Monitoring of professional rules and media codes in the content of the episodes of its program broadcast on the “Al-Shams” channel.

The decision included stopping the broadcast of the “From the Heart” program and continuing to prevent the broadcaster from appearing on all media outlets until the investigations conducted by the Council are completed.

The background of the incident is due to a widespread controversy that has occurred on social media platforms over the past few days regarding the broadcaster’s performance and method of presenting her program.

The incident included, according to what was published in Egyptian newspapers, the “autumn voice” topping the trend, as social media users circulated video clips excerpted from the broadcaster’s program, in which they criticized her delivery style and the calm and soft tone of her voice, which was described as the “autumnal voice” or faking calm in a way that is not appropriate for media presentation.

As a result of the anger and criticism that befell the broadcaster's performance and her accusation of presenting unprofessional content, Al-Shams channel deleted the controversial video from its official platforms.

The broadcaster came out in a video clip on her accounts to respond to the criticism, noting that this is her natural tone of voice, affirming her refusal to be bullied and emphasizing her continuation in her media career.
