Yesterday, the Syrian authorities announced the thwarting of what they described as a sabotage plan in the Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa, and the arrest of a cell that they explained was affiliated with Hezbollah. She added that the operation was carried out by the General Intelligence Service in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces. According to what was reported by the Syrian news agency "SANA".

It also explained that the cell included three people, and that the security services thwarted an attempt to prepare platforms for launching missiles with the aim of carrying out attacks and destabilizing security and stability. She indicated that the platforms were completely dismantled and investigations continued with the detainees in preparation for referring them to the competent judiciary.

The operation comes in the Yarmouk Basin area, located in the western countryside of Daraa near the borders with Jordan and the Golan, which has recently witnessed repeated Israeli movements.

On September 25, the authorities in Damascus reported that an Israeli force consisting of three cars had entered the Wadi al-Raqqad area and opened fire on a shepherd and his children, without causing any casualties, according to what SANA reported.

Reports indicated at the time that the move came after a similar incursion the day before, which included setting up a military checkpoint inside Al-Arda and dropping leaflets warning residents against intercepting troop movements.

In June, the region witnessed an Israeli incursion that reached the village of Abdeen, where a number of homes were searched, as part of a series of military movements that were repeated in the villages of the Yarmouk Basin during the current year.
