In "Touching" Words.. Ronaldo Bids Farewell to Messi After His Last International Match

- The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was keen to bid farewell to his Argentine counterpart Lionel Messi after he played his last match with the "Tango" national team. Messi participated in a match where Argentina won against Benin with a score of 1/3 at the "Monumental" stadium on Wednesday night, having scored one goal and assisted two others.

Later, Lionel Messi posted on his Instagram account pictures from his last international appearance, commenting: "The match against (Benin) was my last match, and I already miss wearing the blue and white colors." He added: "I still have a lot to say; it is impossible for me to express everything I feel in a few words or a single post."

He continued: "This journey would have been impossible without my family, who have always been by my side and supported me, especially during the toughest moments when I needed them the most." Messi added: "My friends, all my teammates, and my manager played a fundamental role, as well as the coaching staff. I do not want to forget Diego Maradona, who put our country in the place it deserves..."

He concluded: "I thank my previous clubs for their constant respect for my feelings and for allowing me to dedicate myself to my country when it was time to wear the national team jersey." Ronaldo commented on Messi's post, saying: "Leo, many years spent defending your country, a story that will last forever, all my respect for what you have achieved with Argentina, with sincere greetings."

Cristiano faced Lionel Messi face-to-face in more than 35 matches with club teams and national teams, exchanging the spotlight in the world of football over the past years through individual and collective achievements. It is worth noting that the Inter Miami star also received farewell messages from Luis Suarez, Neymar da Silva, Ronaldinho, and Javier Zanetti.
