The Turkish Parliament approved the draft law on the “Mecca Defense Agreement” with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, according to what was reported by the official Turkish Anatolia Agency. The agency said, “The General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament approved the draft law on the “Mecca Joint Defense Agreement between Türkiye, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
This ratification comes after “the Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee approved, last week, a draft law approving the ratification of the aforementioned agreement.” The Turkish Parliament ratified the agreement at a time when Saudi Arabia is still being targeted by the Iran-backed Houthi group in light of an escalation between the forces of the internationally recognized government supported by Riyadh and the Houthis.
