Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei confirmed on Monday that his country is still studying an American response to its proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and will respond to Washington through mediators when this study is completed.
Baghaei also stated in a press conference that Iran continues to exchange messages through intermediaries, pointing out that what Hormuz is currently witnessing is a direct result of the United States and Israel’s attack on Iran on February 28.
Baqaei also explained that his country is "deeply concerned" after strikes launched by the Houthis on Riyadh Airport and other areas in Saudi Arabia, saying: The Yemen issue should have been resolved much earlier, and through the same agreement that was reached between the Yemenis and Saudi Arabia.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman told reporters, “We are deeply concerned about the developments in the situation in the Arabian Peninsula,” stressing Tehran’s readiness to “facilitate dialogue between the parties” to the conflict.
The Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport continue, as Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile in the vicinity of the airport.
Before that, the coalition also revealed an attack with an unknown projectile on Passenger Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport, and the attack caused a fire, while the site is being monitored by the competent authorities.
