Iran is betting on a “war of confusion” to influence the elections in Israel and the United States

Tehran - Ofoq News - Israeli estimates indicate that Iran may resort to moves aimed at influencing the upcoming elections in Israel and the United States, through multiple methods to confuse the political and security scene, amid speculation that the possibility of a direct confrontation with Tehran before the elections is not high, but it remains present.

According to a report published by “Israel Today” newspaper, Iran is focusing its efforts towards the United States on the Strait of Hormuz, in an attempt to influence shipping traffic and global oil markets, which may lead to higher prices and increased economic pressure on the American administration.

The report believes that rising oil prices and energy costs may have political repercussions within the United States, especially with the approaching midterm congressional elections, as economic conditions could affect voters’ attitudes and the Democratic Party’s chances of achieving a parliamentary majority.

As for the Israeli arena, the estimates included in the report indicate the possibility that Iran will seek to obstruct the electoral process using various means, without a direct military strike from Iranian territory being one of the likely scenarios, according to these estimates.

These concerns come in light of the continuing tension between Iran, Israel, and the United States, and the increasing importance of the Strait of Hormuz, which represents a vital corridor for global oil trade, which makes any disruption to navigation in it an influential factor in energy markets and the international economy.

However, these scenarios remain within the framework of media estimates and analyses, and do not mean confirmation of the existence of a specific Iranian plan to interfere in the elections or carry out operations to disrupt them.
