Tehran - Ofoq News - Iranian television reported, this evening, Saturday, that an explosion was heard in the Strait of Hormuz, coinciding with the targeting of a commercial ship that was taking a sea lane in the direction of the Sultanate of Oman, in an incident whose details have not yet been confirmed by independent official confirmation.
The Iranian "Khabar" channel reported that the oil tanker "Ore Vinst", which was said to be sailing under the protection of an American escort, turned off its tracking system immediately after it entered the Strait of Hormuz.
The channel added that the Greek tanker "Athenagoras" was on its way to leave the Sultanate of Oman towards the Gulf, without sending signals through the tracking system, according to what was reported by circulated publications.
In the same context, the "Hormuz Report" account claimed that Iran had begun targeting ships escorted by the US Navy as they crossed the Strait of Hormuz, without providing independent evidence to support the validity of this information.
